The rule layer
The forecast changes the choice, not just the icon.
Aeolus checks the latest available forecast for the activity coordinates. Deterministic thresholds run before a weather-dependent suggestion reaches you, so the AI cannot talk its way around a bad window. In multi-day planning, a watch-range stop surfaces a catalog backup when one is configured.
Forecasts are estimates, not guarantees. Aeolus shows its reasoning; you should still check official alerts, closures, and conditions before leaving.

Aeolus does not currently accept sponsored ranking in recommendations. A result should earn its place by fitting the person and the window.
Private until you choose otherwise
Memories begin private. Invite links show the bounded invitation, including sender details or a note chosen for it. They may also show response totals or names guests opt to display. Reviews and story exports require a deliberate action.

What is a Side Quest?
A Side Quest is a plan that fits a real opening in your day: where you can start, how much time and energy you have, who may join, and how far you are willing to go. When enough viable matches exist, Aeolus can return up to three roles: a best fit, an easy yes, and a wild card. You can choose without restarting the search.
How is this different from asking a chatbot for ideas?
The language model can help explain and arrange a plan, but it does not get the final word on weather. A deterministic rule layer classifies the latest available forecast for each activity coordinate and blocks outdoor windows above the rain threshold. In multi-day planning, a watch-range stop also surfaces its configured indoor backup when the catalog contains one; Aeolus does not invent a fallback that is not there.
Where does Aeolus work?
Opportunity discovery is being sharpened city by city, with Chicago as the current evidence focus. Multi-day trip planning can cover other destinations when place, route, and forecast data are available. Coverage and source quality vary, so the app should always be one input, not your only source.
Do I need an account or a credit card?
You can begin exploring as a guest and no credit card is required to start. Signing in is useful when you want plans, preferences, invitations, memories, and notification choices to persist across devices.
Does Aeolus track my location?
Aeolus uses a starting place you enter or a browser location you choose to share. It does not ask for location on the landing page. An explicitly opened offline-navigation feature may update your position while that feature is active; Aeolus is not designed for continuous background tracking. You can use a manually entered place if location access is denied.
Is Aeolus a weather authority or emergency-response service?
No. Forecasts, automated checks, notifications, and third-party delivery can be delayed or wrong. Never rely on Aeolus as a substitute for official weather alerts, park or venue notices, emergency services, or your own judgment. If you are in danger, contact local emergency services directly.
What becomes public when I share?
Memories are private by default. A Side Quest invite shows the plan plus the sender details or note chosen for that invitation; response totals and names that guests choose to show may also appear to recipients. A public place review or exported story is a separate, deliberate action, and private memory notes are not silently copied into public review text.
